Montebello Design Centre hosted the WDC Judges who visited Cape Town this week as part of their technical visits to the three shortlisted cities.  Judges Dilki de Silva and Martin Darbyshire arrived in a Joule accompanied by the CEO of Optimal Energy who was able to brief them about this elegant electric car.

Many Capetonians may remember the "2010 Drink Tap Water Campaign"  during the Soccer World Cup last year! This was part of a much larger effort to create awareness around the high water quality of the tap water provided to residents and visitors in the City.

Table Mountain is bathed in a yellow glow to welcome the two judges who arrived on the World Design Capital Bid 2014 mission.  Martin Darbyshire and Dilki de Silva flew in to Cape Town International on Sunday and were welcomed by hosts Bulelwa Makalima-Ngewana (CTP) and Mariette Du Toit-Helmbold (CTT) and introduced to the team.

Rights for Rhino's Long Walk to Cape Town

Once close to the brink of extinction, this species is under threat again. Rights For Rhino's is aimed at raising awareness and funding to support Rhino conservation if South Africa. 2014 World Design Capital

Cape Town has been shortlisted together with Bilbao and Dublin for World Design Capital 2014. 

We are delighted to report that the Cape Town Green Map featured prominently in the Official Bid Book.

A technical visit from the WDC team will take place in the third week of July.
