Open Streets will be returning to Langa on the 24 February as part of the 2018 -2019 Open Streets Day Series, which has already attracted a large following in Woodstock, Bellville and City Centre.

Night Garden at Montebello Design Centre

Montebello Design Centre is having the final Night Garden of the summer on Thursday, 28 February 2019 from 17h00 to 21h00.

The Night Garden have become part of the Cape Town events calendar. It attracts visitors and locals and is a special evening. It is an opportunity to explore the creativity of artists and crafters at Montebello and engage with them on their processes and what inspires them.

The City of Cape Town’s Special Events Committee signed a new three-year agreement with the event organisers, which means that the Cape Town 10s is set to continue until the 2020/21 financial year.

The City of Cape Ton supports the event in the form of City services as well as providing City-owned venues for use by the participating teams.

Urban farmers to be trained in organic farming in Philippi

City of Cape Town and Philippi Economic Development Forum sign a Memorandum of Agreement (MOA) setting out key deliverables for the organisation to achieve over the next 12 months.

The conclusion of the MOA follows on from Council approving funding support in the amount of R 2,6 million for the current financial year for the Philippi Economic Development Initiative (PEDI) to continue with its critical work in urban agriculture.

Cape Town mural project makes its mark in Athlone

The completion of four murals in Athlone signals the halfway mark in the pilot mural project first initiated in Leonsdale by Cape Town’s Arts and Culture Branch. 
 
 
Professional artists from around the City and aspiring artists from Athlone took part in the project which will expand to other areas.
 
The project consists of the painting of four ground-to-roof wall murals at the City owned flats in Kannabast and Strandroos Close in Kewtown, Athlone.
