De Hel Nature Area is a picturesque nature reserve protecting an indigenous forest on the lower eastern slopes of Table Mountain in Cape Town. It is a heritage site of significance, and has been declared a Provincial Heritage Site.
De Hel is densely forested and its steep slopes run down to the riverbed. It is linked to ancient cattle tracks originating from the Khoi-Khoi pastoralists in the Cape.
