Uitkyk is a wine estate that boasts a range of environmental attractions. Natural methods of crop protection reduce the need for chemical interventions as far as possible.
Uitkyk has 300ha set aside for conservation, with indigenous flora including highly threatened silver trees. Owl posts have been established to support owls as natural predators. Natural corridors that connect the farm allow for other predators and prey, such as guinea fowl, caracal and duiker, to maintain natural balances.
The estate is also home to one of just three 18th Century, double-storey and flat-roofed Georgian-style houses left in the country today.
Picnic baskets are available for order alongside the wine tasting.
Open daily: 09h00 to 17h00
