Zeekoevlei is the largest natural inland water body in Cape Town. The Zeekoevlei section of the False Bay Nature Reserve is a popular picnicking, sailing and fishing spot. Pelicans, flamingos and many other birds can be seen within the 344 ha site. The Zeekoevlei Yacht Club is situated on the west bank.
